The Hydrangea plant is a shrub that is well known for it's beautiful white and blue flowers. There are many different types of hydrangea, but the most popular type, Macrophylla, has bluish flowers and is widely found in the United States and Asia. It's known for its beautiful flowers and health promoting properties. This plant was widely used by the Cherokee Native Americans and the early American settlers for helping to promote urinary health. The root and rhizome are the medicinally active part of the plant. The leaves are toxic and should never be ingested.
