PRODUCT BENEFITS: Vitamin B-6 functions in the catabolism of carbohydrates and proteins.* In addition, it is also used as a coenzyme in more than 100 enzymes involved in amino acid metabolism, including aminotransferases, decarboxylases, and dehydratases.* Vitamin B-6 also promotes the production of red blood cells and is involved in the single-carbon cycle, which produces methyl groups used in the synthesis of other compounds.* By this mechanism, Vitamin B-6 promotes healthy homocysteine levels already within a normal range.*
